Jason Hall, the owner and operator of Muddy Oak Sporting Dogs, is a passionate waterfowl hunter who has explored various hunting grounds across the United States, experiencing the diversity of its flyways. His adventures have introduced him to hunting dogs of all skill levels, sparking a deep interest in both waterfowl and canine companions. This enthusiasm inspired him to pursue the breeding and training of exceptional gundogs.
For years, Jason honed his skills by training his own dogs, but he yearned to elevate his expertise. He turned to Rody Best, a celebrated professional trainer and member of Team Waterdog, for mentorship. Under Rody’s guidance, Jason mastered the art of transforming a dog from a beginner to a top-tier competitor, capable of excelling in prestigious events like the International Grand Hunting Retriever Championship. Beyond training, he gained valuable insights into pedigrees and genetics, which he now applies to create a breeding program focused on producing dogs that shine in the field, thrive in competitions, and bring joy as cherished family pets.
Along the way, Jason discovered Field Bred English Cocker Spaniels and was immediately captivated by their charm. This encounter ignited a fresh passion for upland hunting with a flushing dog, broadening his horizons as a sportsman.
At Muddy Oak Sporting Dogs, our breeding program is dedicated to raising puppies that embody the perfect blend of loving family companions and skilled hunting partners.
